China (X tons) remains the largest refined olive oil producing country in Asia, accounting for X% of total volume. Moreover, refined olive oil production in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, India (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Japan (X tons), with a X% share.

In China, refined olive oil production expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+X% per year) and Japan (-X% per year).

In 2021, shipments abroad of refined olive oil decreased by -X% to X tons, falling for the third year in a row after four years of growth. In general, exports, however, saw prominent growth. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, refined olive oil exports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Turkey was the key exporter of refined olive oil in Asia, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Lebanon (X tons) and Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), together mixing up a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Israel (X tons) - each finished at a X% share of total exports.

Exports from Turkey increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Israel (+X%), Syrian Arab Republic (+X%) and Lebanon (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Israel emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the United Arab Emirates (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
