After two years of decline, overseas shipments of public-transport type passenger motor vehicles increased by X% to X units in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, bus exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a slight descent. The level of export peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
China was the largest exporting country with an export of about X units, which amounted to X% of total exports. Japan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Turkey (X units), South Korea (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Armenia (X units) and India (X units) - each finished at a X% share of total exports.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Armenia (X%), the United Arab Emirates (X%) and Turkey (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Armenia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, India (X%), Japan (X%) and South Korea (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (X p.p.), the United Arab Emirates (X p.p.), Turkey (X p.p.) and Armenia (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while South Korea and Japan saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest bus supplying countries in Asia were China ($X), Japan ($X) and Turkey ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, India and Armenia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
Armenia, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Armenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, bus imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable slump. The following importers - Kuwait (X units), Pakistan (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units), South Korea (X units), Oman (X units), China (X units), Malaysia (X units) and Iraq (X units) - together made up X% of total imports.
