Exports of Porphyry, Basalt and Quartzites

Exports in Asia

In 2022, overseas shipments of porphyry, basalt and quartzites decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, exports showed a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, porphyry, basalt and quartzites exports fell significantly to $X in 2022. In general, exports showed a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, China (X tons) was the largest exporter of porphyry, basalt and quartzites, comprising X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X tons) and India (X tons), together constituting a X% share of total exports. The export price in Asia stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a slight downturn. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
