The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -X% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, styrene-acrylonitrile exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

South Korea was the major exporting country with an export of around X tons, which recorded X% of total exports. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Malaysia (X%), Thailand (X%) and Japan (X%). China (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to styrene-acrylonitrile exports from South Korea stood at +X%. At the same time, China (+X%), Thailand (+X%) and Malaysia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, China emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Japan (-X%) and Hong Kong SAR (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
