In 2022, shipments abroad of radio receivers decreased by -9.7% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, exports saw a perceptible decrease. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, radio receiver exports declined modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a pronounced shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 3.7% against the previous year. China dominates exports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 90% of total exports in 2022. Malaysia (X units) and Thailand (X units) took a minor share of total exports.

In China, radio receiver exports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (-7.1% per year) and Thailand (-7.1% per year).

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, increasing by 5.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the export price increased by 15%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+2.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In general, imports, however, showed a deep reduction. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, radio receiver imports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Hong Kong SAR (X units), distantly followed by India (X units), Japan (X units), Malaysia (X units), Thailand (X units), Australia (X units) and Singapore (X units) represented the key importers of radio receivers, together achieving 81% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +4.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while Hong Kong SAR ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+4.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
