Exports in Asia-Pacific
In 2022, overseas shipments of photographic (other than cinematographic) cameras increased by X% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. In general, exports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, photo camera exports rose sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
China represented the main exporter of photographic (other than cinematographic) cameras in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Thailand (X units) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the Philippines (X%) and Hong Kong SAR (X%). The following exporters - Malaysia (X units) and Vietnam (X units) - together made up X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to photo camera exports from China stood at X%. At the same time, Vietnam (X%) and Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Hong Kong SAR experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Vietnam, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, growing by X% against the previous year. Export price indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, photo camera export price decreased by X% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
