Exports in Asia-Pacific

In 2022, shipments abroad of newsprint increased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a five-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, newsprint exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a abrupt decrease. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2022, South Korea (X tons) was the major exporter of newsprint, committing X% of total exports. Indonesia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an X% share, followed by Australia (X%), Malaysia (X%) and Thailand (X%). China (X tons) and India (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to newsprint exports from South Korea stood at X%. At the same time, China (X%) and Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
