Plain Postcard Exports

Exports in Asia-Pacific

In 2023, the amount of letter cards, plain postcards and correspondence cards exported in Asia-Pacific fell significantly to X tons, declining by X% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports saw a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plain postcard exports contracted slightly to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports showed a pronounced downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2023, China (X tons) represented the largest exporter of letter cards, plain postcards and correspondence cards, mixing up X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons), together creating a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - India (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) - together made up X% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to plain postcard exports from China stood at X%. At the same time, Vietnam (X%) and India (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Singapore experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest plain postcard supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a X% share.

In China, plain postcard exports plunged by an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2023. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (X% per year) and Singapore (X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2023, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Export price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, plain postcard export price increased by X% against 2015 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plain postcard imports reduced to $X in 2023. In general, imports showed a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The purchases of the five major importers of letter cards, plain postcards and correspondence cards, namely South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Japan, represented more than two-thirds of total import. Hong Kong SAR (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Myanmar (X tons), New Zealand (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
