Capacitor Exports

Exports in Asia-Pacific

After two years of growth, shipments abroad of electrical capacitors decreased by X% to X units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2021, and then declined markedly in the following year.

In value terms, capacitor exports dropped to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Exports by Country

China represented the largest exporter of electrical capacitors in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports amounting to X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Hong Kong SAR (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Malaysia (X%), Taiwan (Chinese) (X%), South Korea (X%) and Japan (X%). Singapore (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Malaysia (X%), South Korea (X%), Taiwan (Chinese) (X%), Japan (X%) and Hong Kong SAR (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per thousand units in 2022, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per thousand units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per thousand units), while Malaysia ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of electrical capacitors decreased by X% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2021, and then declined notably in the following year.

In value terms, capacitor imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
