These countries were followed by Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Cyprus, which together accounted for a further 31%.
Cyprus, with a CAGR of +109.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, declining by -22.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Cyprus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
