Exports in Asia

In 2022, approx. X tons of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates were exported in Asia; increasing by X% against 2021 figures. Total exports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, coffee extract exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Indonesia (X tons), distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), India (X tons), Timor-Leste (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the largest exporters of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates, together committing X% of total exports.

In 2022, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while Timor-Leste ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Turkey (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Kuwait (X tons), Iraq (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.

Imports into the Philippines increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Iraq (X%), Kuwait (X%), China (X%), Hong Kong SAR (X%), the United Arab Emirates (X%), Turkey (X%), Indonesia (X%), Japan (X%), Malaysia (X%), South Korea (X%) and Thailand (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Iraq emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Singapore experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China, Hong Kong SAR, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq increased by X, X, X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
