In 2022, approx. X tons of carob were exported in Asia; with an increase of X% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, carob exports surged to $X in 2022. In general, exports enjoyed a strong expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Lebanon (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the key exporters of carob in Asia, together making up X% of total exports. Cyprus (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Jordan (X%).

Vietnam represented the major importer of carob in Asia, with the volume of imports resulting at X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. Turkey (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Myanmar (X%), Israel (X%), Thailand (X%) and Cyprus (X%). Cambodia (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
