As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, bleached sulphate pulp exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 21%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Indonesia prevails in exports structure, resulting at X tons, which was near 86% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Japan (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) - together made up 7.1% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to bleached sulphate pulp exports from Indonesia stood at +3.3%. At the same time, Turkey (+61.9%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+21.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +61.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Japan (-3.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Total imports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 13%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, bleached sulphate pulp imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. At the same time, the United Arab Emirates (+26.6%), Bangladesh (+12.2%) and Turkey (+7.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the United Arab Emirates emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +26.6% from 2012-2021. India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-1.5%) and South Korea (-1.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+6.1 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Japan (-3.1 p.p.) and South Korea (-4 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
