Exports in ASEAN
In 2022, exports of electrical insulators in ASEAN fell to X units, waning by X% on the year before. Total exports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, electrical insulator exports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Malaysia was the main exporting country with an export of about X units, which recorded X% of total exports. Singapore (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Thailand (X%) and Indonesia (X%).
Exports from Malaysia increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Indonesia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in ASEAN, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Singapore (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Malaysia (X p.p.) and Indonesia (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Thailand (X p.p.) and Singapore (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) remains the largest electrical insulator supplier in ASEAN, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with an X% share.
In Malaysia, electrical insulator exports increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Thailand (X% per year) and Singapore (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in ASEAN amounted to $X per unit, leveling off at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. Imports in ASEAN
Electrical insulator imports fell to X units in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Overall, imports showed a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, electrical insulator import price decreased by X% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year.
