Exports from Argentina

In 2022, shipments abroad of paperboard case materials increased by 56% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, exports, however, showed a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 255%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, paperboard case material exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 277% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Chile (X tons) was the main destination for paperboard case material exports from Argentina, with a 83% share of total exports. In value terms, paperboard case material imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +86.3% against 2020 indices.
