Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Chile ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bolivia (+16.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of ammonium sulphate increased by 5.1% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 180%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ammonium sulphate imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 148% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest ammonium sulphate supplier to Argentina, with a 77% share of total imports. Moreover, ammonium sulphate imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Spain (X tons), with a 2.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +46.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+5.9% per year) and Spain (-7.6% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ammonium sulphate to Argentina, comprising 63% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Poland ($X), with a 31% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 2.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +43.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+10.3% per year) and Spain (-8.4% per year).

In 2021, the average ammonium sulphate import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 45% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild decrease. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
