Exports from Angola

In 2022, shipments abroad of fresh or chilled cuts of chicken decreased by -0.9% to X kg for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 349%. The exports peaked at X kg in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, fresh chicken cut exports reduced modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 299%. Canada (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of fresh chicken cut imports to Angola, with a combined 73% share of total imports. Lebanon, South Africa, Spain, the UK, Brazil, Turkey and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.
