South Africa was the key exporting country with an export of around X tons, which accounted for X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Senegal (X tons) and Morocco (X tons), together comprising a X% share of total exports. Algeria (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from South Africa decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Senegal (X%), Algeria (X%) and Morocco (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Senegal emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. While the share of Senegal (X p.p.), Morocco (X p.p.) and Algeria (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of South Africa (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest vinegar supplier in Africa, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Morocco ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Senegal, with a X% share.

In value terms, the largest vinegar importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Morocco ($X) and Algeria ($X), together accounting for X% of total imports. Guinea-Bissau, Botswana, Namibia, Senegal, Mozambique, Angola, Libya, Sao Tome and Principe, Central African Republic and Gambia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
Central African Republic, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per ton), while Guinea-Bissau ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
