In 2022, exports of table linen of cotton in Africa shrank rapidly to X tons, which is down by X% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, exports saw a deep downturn. Exports from Egypt decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Guinea (X%), Ethiopia (X%) and Tunisia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Guinea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. South Africa experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Madagascar (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Tunisia (X p.p.), South Africa (X p.p.) and Guinea (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Egypt and Madagascar saw its share reduced by X% and X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Egypt ($X) remains the largest cotton table linen supplier in Africa, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Tunisia ($X), with an X% share of total exports. It was followed by South Africa, with an X% share.
