Exports in Africa

Semi-manufactured silver exports soared to X tons in 2022, with an increase of X% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports posted a tangible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, semi-manufactured silver exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

South Africa was the largest exporter of silver in semi-manufactured forms in Africa, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. In value terms, semi-manufactured silver imports shrank to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
