Exports in Africa

In 2022, shipments abroad of paper knives was finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, paper knife exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable slump. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

South Africa prevails in exports structure, reaching X units, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Rwanda (X units) held a little share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to paper knife exports from South Africa stood at X%. At the same time, Rwanda (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
