Moreover, Burkina Faso emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +44.5% from 2012-2021. While the share of Burkina Faso (+8.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of South Africa (-12.6 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice supplier in Africa, comprising 90% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Egypt ($X), with a 4.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Zimbabwe, with a 1.4% share.
In South Africa, exports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice expanded at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Egypt (+12.8% per year) and Zimbabwe (+2.1% per year).

Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 111%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, imports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice fell markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a perceptible decrease. The second position in the ranking was taken by Senegal ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Namibia, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Malawi totaled +29.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Senegal (-6.0% per year) and Namibia (-5.2% per year).

In 2021, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 8.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild slump. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per ton), while Cote d'Ivoire ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Zimbabwe (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
