Total exports indicated notable growth from 2007 to 2019: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last twelve-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2019 figures, exports decreased by -X% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

South Africa represented the main exporter of canned mushrooms in Africa, with the volume of exports finishing at X tonnes, which was near X% of total exports in 2019. Egypt (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Morocco (X%). Cote d'Ivoire (X tonnes) and Mauritius (X tonnes) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from South Africa increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2019. At the same time, Morocco (+X%), Egypt (+X%) and Mauritius (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2019. By contrast, Cote d'Ivoire (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In 2019, the canned mushroom export price in Africa amounted to $X per tonne, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, export prices reached the maximum at $X per tonne in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2019, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per tonne), while Egypt ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
