Solid-Liquid Separator Exports

Exports in Africa

After six years of decline, shipments abroad of machinery for solid-liquid separation increased by X% to X units in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a deep reduction. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, solid-liquid separator exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then declined sharply in the following year.

Congo was the main exporter of machinery for solid-liquid separation in Africa, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Angola (X units), Zambia (X units) and Morocco (X units), together creating a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Chad (X units), Malawi (X units), Namibia (X units) and Benin (X units) - together made up X% of total exports.

Exports from Congo increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Benin (X%), Chad (X%), Malawi (X%), Cote d'Ivoire (X%) and Zambia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Benin emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. While the share of Congo (X p.p.), Angola (X p.p.), Zambia (X p.p.), Chad (X p.p.), Cote d'Ivoire (X p.p.), Malawi (X p.p.) and Benin (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Morocco (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Morocco ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Congo ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined X% share of total exports. Chad, Zambia, Angola, Namibia, Benin and Malawi lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Chad, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, declining by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by X%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2021, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per unit), while Malawi (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
