In 2022, overseas shipments of linoleum were finally on the rise to reach X square meters after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X square meters. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, linoleum exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the three major exporters of linoleum, namely Egypt, Niger and Uganda, represented more than two-thirds of total export. It was distantly followed by South Africa (X square meters), generating a X% share of total exports. The following exporters - Namibia (X square meters) and Zambia (X square meters) - together made up X% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Niger (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest linoleum supplying countries in Africa were Niger ($X), Egypt ($X) and Uganda ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, Niger, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the export price in Africa amounted to $X per square meter, rising by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a deep reduction. The level of export peaked at $X per square meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Niger ($X per square meter), while Zambia ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Africa
In 2022, the amount of linoleum imported in Africa shrank significantly to X square meters, dropping by X% on 2021 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X square meters in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Ethiopia (X square meters) was the major importer of linoleum, comprising X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Ghana (X square meters), Libya (X square meters), Sudan (X square meters), Nigeria (X square meters) and Madagascar (X square meters), together comprising a X% share of total imports. South Africa (X square meters), Tanzania (X square meters), Tunisia (X square meters), Kenya (X square meters), Gabon (X square meters), Algeria (X square meters) and Cameroon (X square meters) took a relatively small share of total imports.
Ethiopia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the linoleum imports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Tanzania (X%), Madagascar (X%), Nigeria (X%), Libya (X%), Cameroon (X%), Kenya (X%) and Tunisia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Ethiopia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported linoleum in Africa, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Sudan ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Nigeria, with a X% share.
