In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of household sewing machines, when their volume decreased by X% to X units. Over the period under review, exports faced a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X%. At the same time, Rwanda (X%), Togo (X%), Uganda (X%), Ghana (X%), Morocco (X%) and Kenya (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Rwanda emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Africa, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Rwanda (X p.p.), Ghana (X p.p.), Kenya (X p.p.), Togo (X p.p.), Uganda (X p.p.) and Morocco (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while South Africa saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest household sewing machine supplier in Africa, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Rwanda ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Ghana, with an X% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in South Africa stood at X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Rwanda (X% per year) and Ghana (X% per year).

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Togo ($X per unit), while Uganda ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Rwanda (X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
