Hearing Aid Exports

Exports in Africa

In 2022, approx. X units of hearing aids (excl. parts and accessories) were exported in Africa; which is down by X% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, hearing aid exports rose significantly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated moderate growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per unit), while Namibia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
