Gauze Market Size in Africa

In 2019, the African gauze market decreased by -X% to $X, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, consumption, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. These countries were followed by Tanzania, Egypt, Kenya, Sudan, Uganda, South Africa, Mozambique, Somalia and Madagascar, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of gauze production, amongst the leading producing countries, was attained by Kenya, while gauze production for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, exports reached the peak figure at X square meters in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2019, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The gauze export price in Africa stood at $X per square meter in 2019, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when the export price increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, export price attained the peak level of $X per square meter. From 2009 to 2019, the growth in terms of the export prices remained at a lower figure.
