The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2020, Mauritania (X tons) and Algeria (X tons) were the key importers of frozen boiled potatoes in Africa, together reaching near X% of total imports. Zambia (X tons) held a X% share (based on tons) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Swaziland (X%), Gambia (X%), Namibia (X%) and Botswana (X%). Tanzania (X tons), Senegal (X tons), Nigeria (X tons), South Sudan (X tons), Somalia (X tons) and Lesotho (X tons) occupied a little share of total imports.
