Over the period under review, the export prices for fats of poultry reached its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2017, the country with the highest export price was South Africa ($X per tonne), while Nigeria ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013, when it surged by X% y-o-y. The volume of imports peaked of X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, poultry fat imports stood at $X in 2017. The poultry fat imports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. Over the period under review, the poultry fat imports reached its peak figure level of $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.

Poultry Fat Imports by Country in Africa

In 2017, South Africa (X tonnes), distantly followed by Botswana (X tonnes), Namibia (X tonnes), Angola (X tonnes), Nigeria (X tonnes), Cabo Verde (X tonnes) and Morocco (X tonnes) were the key importers of fats of poultry, together creating X% of total imports.

The poultry fat import price in Africa stood at $X per tonne in 2017, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2017, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015, an increase of X% y-o-y. In that year, the import prices for fats of poultry attained their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2016 to 2017, growth of the import prices for fats of poultry failed to regain its momentum.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2017, the country with the highest import price was Angola ($X per tonne), while South Africa ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
