Densified Wood Exports

Exports in Africa

In 2022, the amount of densified wood exported in Africa reduced remarkably to X tons, waning by X% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, densified wood exports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw significant growth. South Africa was the largest exporter of densified wood in Africa, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Cameroon (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an X% share, followed by Angola (X%), Ghana (X%), Zambia (X%) and Gabon (X%). Nigeria (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.
