Chlorine exports was estimated at X tons in 2023, surging by X% on the previous year's figure. Total exports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2023: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, exports increased by X% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X%. The volume of export peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, chlorine exports expanded notably to $X in 2023. Overall, exports recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2022 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

At the same time, Ethiopia (X%), Morocco (X%), Mozambique (X%), Nigeria (X%), Senegal (X%), Botswana (X%), Namibia (X%) and Swaziland (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Zambia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Kenya (X%), Zimbabwe (X%) and Angola (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Djibouti (X p.p.), Nigeria (X p.p.), Ethiopia (X p.p.), Morocco (X p.p.) and Mozambique (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Zimbabwe, Angola and Kenya saw its share reduced by X%, X% and X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
