In 2022, the African bottled water market decreased by X% to $X for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. The market value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. In value terms, bottled water exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a pronounced increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Tanzania represented the largest exporter of bottled waters in Africa, with the volume of exports resulting at X litres, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. South Africa (X litres) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Egypt (X litres) and Zambia (X litres). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports. Uganda (X litres), Ghana (X litres) and Burkina Faso (X litres) held a little share of total exports.

Tanzania was also the fastest-growing in terms of the bottled waters exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Ghana (X%), Egypt (X%), Zambia (X%), Burkina Faso (X%) and South Africa (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Uganda (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period.
