Exports in Africa
For the eleventh year in a row, Africa recorded growth in shipments abroad of blueberries and cranberries, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, blueberry and cranberry exports shrank to $X in 2022. In general, exports posted significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined slightly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Morocco was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which amounted to X% of total exports. South Africa (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Zimbabwe (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Zimbabwe (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest blueberry and cranberry supplying countries in Africa were Morocco ($X), South Africa ($X) and Zimbabwe ($X), together comprising X% of total exports.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, blueberry and cranberry imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
