Bed Linen Exports

Exports in Africa

After two years of growth, shipments abroad of bed linen decreased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a perceptible decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, bed linen exports reduced to $X in 2023. Overall, exports recorded a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Egypt represented the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which reached X% of total exports. Tunisia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by South Africa (X%). Morocco (X tons) and Mauritius (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Egypt decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Morocco (X%), Tunisia (X%) and Mauritius (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2023, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
