For the third year in a row, Africa recorded growth in overseas shipments of aluminium hydroxide, which increased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a sharp decline. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aluminium hydroxide exports expanded modestly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a abrupt descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Sierra Leone (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) represented roughly X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by South Africa (X tons) and Swaziland (X tons), together creating a X% share of total exports. Seychelles (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Swaziland (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
