The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, natural cork imports dropped markedly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, Portugal (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of natural cork to the Netherlands, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, natural cork imports from Portugal exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tonnes), sixfold. Belgium (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
