China Wooden Door Export Price in December 2021

In December 2021, the wooden door price amounted to $38.1 per unit (FOB, China), leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 an increase of 9.5% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $38.7 per unit. From March 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Australia ($63.4 per unit), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($15.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Wooden Door Exports

In December 2021, the amount of doors and their frames and thresholds of wood exported from China totaled 1.9M units, standing approximately at the previous month's figure. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a tangible expansion from January 2021 to December 2021: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the last eleven-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, exports increased by +7.0% against August 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2021 when exports increased by 89% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in December 2021.

In value terms, wooden door exports amounted to $72M (IndexBox estimates) in December 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a noticeable expansion from January 2021 to December 2021: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.7% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, exports increased by +13.4% against October 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2021 with an increase of 68% against the previous month. The exports peaked in December 2021.

China Wooden Door Exports by Country

The United States (399K units), Hong Kong SAR (245K units) and the UK (242K units) were the main destinations of wooden door exports from China, together accounting for 47% of total exports. Canada, Japan, Romania, Ireland, the Philippines, Bulgaria, Nigeria, Thailand, Singapore and Australia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +14.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($14M), Hong Kong SAR ($14M) and the UK ($7.5M) constituted the largest markets for wooden door exported from China worldwide, with a combined 49% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Japan, Canada, Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, Ireland, Romania, Thailand, Nigeria and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 33%.

Among the main countries of destination, Bulgaria, with a CAGR of +14.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
