Sorghum Price in Brazil (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average sorghum export price amounted to $303 per ton, declining by -79.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a sharp descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 1,422%. The export price peaked at $3,828 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($1,393 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan totaled $183 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (-0.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Sorghum Price in Brazil (CIF) - 2022

The average sorghum import price stood at $243 per ton in 2022, which is down by -44.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 1,664% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $12,993 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,752 per ton), while the price for Paraguay ($211 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Argentina (-1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Sorghum Exports in Brazil

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of sorghum increased by 4,897% to 11K tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a sharp setback.
