Price for Rusks and Toasted Bread in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average rusks and toasted bread export price stood at $2,246 per ton in July 2023, rising by 5.6% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 when the average export price increased by 13% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $2,518 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($4,758 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($990 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Price for Rusks and Toasted Bread in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
The average rusks and toasted bread import price stood at $4,460 per ton in 2022, increasing by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 78% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,148 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($9,981 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($2,817 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+21.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Rusks and Toasted Bread in Turkey
For the fourth consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in shipments abroad of rusks, toasted bread and similar toasted products, which increased by 10% to 4.4K tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +54.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 23%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, rusks and toasted bread exports soared to $9.5M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +14.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
