In June 2023, the average chamotte or dinas earths export price amounted to $144 per ton, shrinking by -25.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2022 an increase of 170% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $337 per ton. From October 2022 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($196 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($130 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (-0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average chamotte or dinas earths import price stood at $330 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 12% against the previous year.
