Plastic Furniture Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023
The average plastic furniture import price stood at $11.0 per unit in August 2023, growing by 6.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 14% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $13.8 per unit in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($15.7 per unit), while the price for Israel ($9.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Plastic Furniture Price in the UK (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average plastic furniture export price amounted to $29 per unit, which is down by -6.2% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, plastic furniture export price increased by +9.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 35% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $44 per unit. From 2019 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($51 per unit), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($14 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+14.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Plastic Furniture Imports in the UK
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of furniture of plastic, when their volume decreased by -21.1% to 15M units. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 18M units, and then declined remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, plastic furniture imports dropped to $224M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +16.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +59.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 55%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $258M, and then fell in the following year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 90%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, plastic furniture exports dropped slightly to $53M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 123% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $56M, and then shrank modestly in the following year.
