Kiwi Fruit Price in China (CIF) - 2023
In June 2023, the average kiwi fruit import price amounted to $4,104 per ton, surging by 8.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 77% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $4,553 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was New Zealand ($4,375 per ton), while the price for Chile amounted to $1,809 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Kiwi Fruit Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average kiwi fruit export price amounted to $1,368 per ton, falling by -9.6% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.9%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 19% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $1,700 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($2,440 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mongolia ($424 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Kiwi Fruit Imports in China
In 2022, the amount of kiwi fruits imported into China contracted to 118K tons, shrinking by -8.1% on 2021 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 9.1%.
In value terms, kiwi fruit imports dropped to $492M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 22%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $550M, and then dropped in the following year.

Kiwi Fruit Exports in China
In 2022, shipments abroad of kiwi fruits decreased by -10.5% to 11K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 43% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 13K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, kiwi fruit exports dropped dramatically to $16M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -17.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $20M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
