China Concentrated Lemon And Other Citrus Fruit Juice Import Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice price amounted to $2,545 per ton (CIF, China), increasing by 6.4% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to September 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 41% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,892 per ton. From May 2022 to September 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,247 per ton), while the price for Italy ($2,283 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Concentrated Lemon And Other Citrus Fruit Juice Imports

In September 2022, imports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice into China contracted significantly to 224 tons, with a decrease of -41.4% compared with the previous month. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a notable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 with an increase of 214% m-o-m. Over the period under review, imports of reached the peak figure at 1.2K tons in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice shrank significantly to $570K (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 with an increase of 284% month-to-month. Imports peaked at 2.7K tons in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China Concentrated Lemon And Other Citrus Fruit Juice Imports by Country

In September 2022, Italy (203 tons) was the main supplier of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice to China, accounting for a 91% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (18 tons), more than tenfold.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from Italy stood at +19.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the United States (0.0% per month) and Israel (-45.0% per month).

In value terms, Italy ($464K) constituted the largest supplier of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice to China, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($95K), with a 17% share of total imports.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from Italy amounted to +24.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the United States (+1.3% per month) and Israel (-42.6% per month).
