The average brassiere import price stood at $3.9 per unit in June 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4.8 per unit in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($7.6 per unit), while the price for Bangladesh ($2.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sri Lanka (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average brassiere export price stood at $2.7 per unit in June 2023, surging by 2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 26% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $4.5 per unit in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to June 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($7.4 per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($1.5 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Brassiere Imports in the United States
Brassiere imports into the United States reduced to 665M units in 2022, which is down by -11.9% against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 50%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 755M units, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, brassiere imports dropped to $2.7B in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $2.7B, leveling off in the following year.
