Asbestos Cement Corrugated Sheet Manufacturing

1. Raw Materials Preparation:

4. Corrugation:

Once the sheets have been cut, they are then passed through a corrugation machine, which produces the characteristic zigzag pattern on the surface of the sheet. This pattern significantly increases the strength of the sheet and also enhances its aesthetical appearance.

5. Curing:

The sheets are then transferred to a curing chamber, where they are subjected to high temperatures and humidity for a predetermined time. This process helps to harden the sheets and improve their strength and durability.

6. Finishing:

After curing, the sheets are inspected to ensure they meet the required standards. Any defective sheets are rejected, and the remaining sheets are then stacked and packed for transportation.

The use of asbestos fibers has been banned in many countries due to the health risks it poses. However, many countries continue to manufacture and use asbestos cement corrugated sheets. The manufacture of asbestos cement corrugated sheets requires strict adherence to safety standards to avoid the release of asbestos fibers into the environment.

In recent times, there have been concerted efforts to find alternative raw materials that can be used to manufacture roofing sheets with similar properties to asbestos cement corrugated sheets. Alternative raw materials that have been used include glass fiber, cellulose fiber, and polypropylene fibers, among others.
