Pumpkin Production in Ecuador

Pumpkin production in Ecuador amounted to 2.6 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -20.0% against the previous year level. Overall, the pumpkin output pursued a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -7.7%. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and a slight contraction of the yield figures. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +3% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the pumpkin production in Ecuador attained its maximum volume of 5.2 thousand tonnes in 2009. From 2010 to 2015, the total pumpkin output growth failed to regain its strength.
