Pulses Production in Iran

Pulses production in Iran amounted to 51.9 thousand tonnes in 2015, standing approx. at the previous year level. Overall, the pulses output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and solid gains of the yield figures. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +180% from the previous year level. In that year, the pulses production in Iran attained its maximum volume of 93.7 thousand tonnes. From 2011 to 2015, the pulses output in growth failed to regain its strength.
