Pulses Production in Germany

Pulses production in Germany amounted to 8.1 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -1.1% against the previous year level. Overall, the pulses output pursued a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general positive trend was largely conditioned by a measured expansion of the harvested area and a slight contraction of the yield figures. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when the output figure increased by +36% from the previous year level. In that year, the pulses production in Germany attained its maximum volume of 11.0 thousand tonnes. From 2009 to 2015, the pulses output in growth failed to regain its strength.
