Pulses Production in Egypt

Pulses production in Egypt amounted to 7.5 thousand tonnes in 2015, standing approx. at the previous year level. Overall, the pulses output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern did not record any noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a slight curtailment of the harvested area and a moderate improvement of the yield figures. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +7% from the previous year level. In that year, the pulses production in Egypt attained its maximum volume of 8.0 thousand tonnes. From 2010 to 2015, the pulses output in growth failed to regain its strength.
